Photo maps, made personal

Every photo belongs somewhere. Put it on the map.

Wayframe pins your photos to the places they were taken, then joins the stops into stories you can play back, print and share. It works with phone photos, and with the old cameras that never recorded where they were.

How it works

From camera roll to story in three steps

  1. Pin

Add your photos and set where each one was taken. Search any city or click the map. Photos that carry GPS find their own spot.

  2. Connect

Choose the photos in the order you went. A red string joins them into a route you can reorder, rename and play back.

  3. Share

Keep a story private, show it to friends, or make it public with a link. You decide for each photo and each story.

Made for the cameras you actually use

An old camera with no GPS is no problem.

Point-and-shoots, DSLRs, film scans and phones all save the date and settings inside each photo, though rarely the place. Wayframe reads what’s there, shows it as a “shot on” label with the shutter speed, aperture and ISO, and lets you type in the camera when a file doesn’t say. Placing a whole day of photos takes one search.

Been and bucket list

Keep score of the world.

Every country you pin a photo in lights up on your map and adds to your count. Add the ones you visited without a camera, and keep a bucket list of places you still want to see. The moment you pin a photo there, the list checks itself off.

  • Been: countries fill in on their own from your photos, with a percent of the world.
  • Bucket list: countries, cities, places and experiences, with a status for each.
  • Travel timeline: press play and watch your map fill up, photo by photo.

A map drawn for the job

Countries, states, provinces, cities and US counties, drawn from public-domain data that ships with the app. No map-service account, and it keeps working offline.

Play your trip back

Press play and the map travels from stop to stop while the string draws itself. Turn any story into a poster you can print.

Private until you say otherwise

Everything works without an account. Sign in with just your email when you want your photos on every device, or to share with friends.

Comments and notifications

Talk about a photo with the people who follow you. A bell tells you when someone follows you, likes a photo or mentions you.

Invite with a link or a QR code

Send one link, or let a friend scan your code. When they sign in from it, they start out following you.

Profiles with highlights

Pin your best photos to the top of your profile, and see your countries, favorite place and most-used camera at a glance.

Better together

See where your friends have been.

Choose a username, find your friends, and follow them. Stories they share appear on your map next to your own, in blue.

  • Nothing is shared by default. You choose Private, Friends or Public for each photo or story
  • Profiles show a name and an optional username. Photos need a follow
  • Photos are stored privately and served through links that expire
